Structural Analysis: Structural design support using commercial FEA and durability software codes. Loads generation and dynamic response prediction using MBD tools included. CAE Data Interpretation: Reporting and documentation including interpretation to peers and leadership. Test Data Analysis: Understand chassis design performance through test data analysis. Model Correlation: Examination of test data to drive correlation and CAE model development. Technical Leadership and Mentoring: Lead other team members in the areas of structures, vibration, dynamics and durability. Generate technical / design solutions. Methods Development: Implementation of customer focused Polaris specific CAE tools and best practices. Automation and continuous improvement. Early Integration: Apply knowledge and tools to the architecture selection and target setting early in design. Planning: Use experience to create and track basic CAE manpower plans for vehicle programs. Stretch Assignments: Work includes exposure to many vehicles and types of problems, including stretch opportunities outside of core responsibilities. Strategy: Keeps abreast of new engineering developments affecting the organization, and participates in peer group teams. Knowledgebase creation, including the development of durability procedures, methods, and metrics. Multi-Attribute: May have a working knowledge of other attributes including performance, safety, and NVH.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Preferred skills with CAE Tools (ANSYS, ANSYS Workbench, HyperMesh, OptiStruct), fatigue tools (nCode DesignLife), and data post-processing tools (HyperView, GlyphWorks). Experience in the design of chassis and structural components, engines, vehicle validation, and durability processes. Durability and advanced fatigue theory knowledge is required, including experience with frequency domain problem sets. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiating skills. Team player, ability to work with several design teams concurrently and across multiple sites. Ideal candidate is customer focused and have Powersports knowledge & experience. 6 years minimum experience desired with advanced numerical problems, including structures, mechanical systems dynamics, dynamics, optimization, DOE, contact, nonlinear, modal, systems approaches, durability, NVH, etc. B.S. Engineering required, advanced degree preferred.
