External Description: JOB SUMMARY:
This position leads the distribution development and sales team execution. It is responsible for achieving the business unit's growth, volume and distribution build out targets. The position will focus on selectively and methodically expanding the Polaris Adventures network with high quality adventure outfitter partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership
1. Leadership integration with the rest of the Polaris Adventures team (Operations, Marketing, Finance, Risk)
2. Distribution development and sales team management, motivation, quality and goals achievement
3. Align with other Polaris business units' market development goals and constraints
Distribution Development
4. Lead business development planning & prospecting for customer, vehicle and experience targets
5. Strategically build a high quality network, overlaying the various targets, requirements and constraints, utilizing thorough selection criteria & goals alignment
6. Develop profiles of ideal outfitter types based on market intelligence and past account performance
7. Lead and maintain the annual prospecting calendar by focus area, region & salesperson
8. Maintain analytics on the health and quality of leads, prospects, targets and accounts
9. Investigate new vertical markets and long-term cultivation efforts
Sales
10. Track and achieve annual volume, distribution point and profitability targets directly and via direct report
11. Develop the sales strategy to align with the goals set by the VP / GM and Senior Business Analyst
12. Continuously improve the quarterly programs and sales tools available to the team
13. Manage sales pipeline process and utilize platforms / technology to deliver metrics and visibility
14. Maintain weekly leadership of leads, prospects, sales activity, account generation and goals achievement
15. Travel for direct achievement of goals and with direct reports for significant prospecting and account development.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required (Business, Marketing); MBA preferred
  • 10-15 years field sales and retail sales experience with proven track record of success
  • 5+ years previous experience in a Sales management role, including supervision of remote staff
  • Extensive, demonstrated knowledge of high quality distribution network strategy (long and short term)
  • Recognized leader within sales and consistent high performer
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and motivate teams
  • A demonstrated understanding, appreciation and passion for experience businesses
  • Experience with budget management, forecasting sales and expenses
  • Proficient in all MS Office software suite


WORKING CONDITIONS:
Corporate office environment with 25-50% travel, depending on seasonality
