Development Engineer - Wyoming, MN



Responsible
for providing technical leadership and engineering support in the area of
quality control production of engine component using basic and advanced quality
tools - LEAN; SPC; GD&T; Measurement Systems Analysis; Advanced Quality
Planning (AQP); and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP); conduct assessments of new vehicle component
commodity supplier candidates; participate on quality control teams to develop
"world class" quality process systems; coordinate quality aspects for new
product development and actively participate in design reviews; provide
leadership, training and support to achieve "World Class" quality by ensuring
quality standards are met (internally & by outside vendors) for Polaris
engines assembly process; assist in the
design and installation of quality control process sampling systems; establish
collaborative relationships cross-functionally internally as well as with a
diverse / global supply base; provide front line support/liaison at supplier to
troubleshoot, root cause analysis and implementing corrective action on issues
affecting production; plan and conduct APQP activities concerned with the
quality assurance of manufacturing processes, materials, and products; assist
supplier with inspection criteria for critical assembly attributes as well as
informational feedback systems using Quality System / Manufacturing Process
Auditing experience with QS 9000/ TS 16949 requirements; establish and document critical assembly
component criteria and supporting process control information; analyze
production limitations and standards; evaluate part qualification status
progress and results, draft and present technical reports in cross-functional
environment, recommend changes in procedures required to meet production
readiness objectives; utilizing problem solving skills, communicate significant issues or
developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide
appropriate recommendations; coordinate quality aspects for new product
development including but not limited to on-site start-ups and tool, vendor
certifications, inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; actively
participate in design reviews as well as identifying significant and critical
feature; characteristics and GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
functionality on blue prints; assist in the planning of quality control
engineering assignments; and, develop and implement quality control training programs.
Travel required up to 40% to supplier locations both domestic and
international.

Requires
Bachelor's degree* in Industrial and
System Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering and 5
years of experience in quality engineering or supplier development engineering.

degree in Industrial and System Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or

Must
possess five years of experience in the following:

•Basic
and advanced quality tools - LEAN; SPC; GD&T; Measurement Systems Analysis;
Advanced Quality Planning (AQP); and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP);

•Quality
System / Manufacturing Process Auditing Experience with knowledge of QS 9000/
TS 16949 requirements;

•Manufacturing
or assembly problem solving skills;

•Drafting
and presenting technical reports in a
cross-functional environment;

•Process
experience with vehicle component commodities; and

•Establishing
collaborative relationships cross-functionally internally as well as with a
diverse / global supply base

Travel
