External Description: JOB SUMMARY:
Primary focus will be to execute cost reduction VALUEIMPROVEMENT PROCESS (VIP) projects; these VIP projects will require theindividual to lead, direct and monitor design and development work from conceptto production to achieve product objectives within a specified timeschedule. Close alignment with the newproduct development and manufacturing team is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify, lead, and implement VIP cost savings by workingcross functionally with the engineering, purchasing and manufacturingteams. Integration of those VIP savingsmust align with existing projects and have the approval of those projectteams. Any change must meet the quality,durability, performance and reliability requirements of the originalparts/subsystem.
Direct the programs using the Polaris Development Process(PDP), ensuring that all requirements are clearly defined, documented, andachieved.
Manage the team to develop innovative approaches,breakthrough technologies, and improved processes. Collaborate with suppliersto use their design expertise where appropriate.
Monitor and manage the manufacturing, quality, andpurchasing resources and activities on the team, to provide seamlesscoordination and issue resolution between all team members.
Participate in field development testing as required;analyzes field problems and recommends possible solutions.
Motivate the entire team and others affecting theprogram's success.
Assist functional managers to plan budgets and manpowerforecasts.

SKILLS &KNOWLEDGE

B.S. in Electrical Engineering (EE), ElectricalEngineering Technology (EET), Mechanical Engineering (ME) or relatedengineering required.
Understanding and experience with software development,rapid controls prototyping, and the calibration thereof.
Understanding and knowledge of electromechanical relatedcomponent manufacturing processes.
Understanding and experience with electromechanicalcomponents including controllers, circuits, solenoids, electric motors, etc.
Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems andconsumer wireless electronic devices.
3+ years of engineering project/design leadershipexperience, in similar industry. Strong technical background.
Familiarity with digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, CANnetworking tools, data loggers, and other electrical diagnostic tools required.
Benchmarks competitive design/processes/materials andfunction.
Strong leadership skills and ability. Outstanding oraland written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influenceothers. Demonstrated ability to form business inter-relationships withsupporting managers, leaders, and staff.
Excellent project planning, organizing, andadministrative skills. Understands how program objectives, tools, and resourcesrelate cross-functionally.
Riding experience and/or interest in RecreationalVehicles.
Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positiveattitude.
