JOB SUMMARY:

Serve as a subject matter expert for the Polaris Development Process (PDP) supporting product development teams across all enterprise functions. Help identify and lead organizational efficiency improvements through the application of Lean within the new product development value stream.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help develop & support the strategic plan and vision for the Polaris Development Process (PDP).
  • Drive continuous improvement of integrated functions (engineering, strategic sourcing, manufacturing, etc.) and development of non-integrated functions into the PDP
  • Prioritize & execute Lean initiatives in the PDP to drive out waste, reduce costs, and / or increase product safety, quality, productivity, and speed
  • Apply Lean tools such as kaizen, process mapping, built-in quality, kaizen, 5S, etc.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead selected project teams
  • Provide daily support to PDP users and on-going system support as needed
  • Interface with all levels of teams, leadership, and functions across the enterprise
  • Consider product development globally. Involve international product development teams and customers when developing solutions or executing process improvement projects
  • Works closely with project leaders and project teams to understand process pain points and drive continuous improvement in PDP
  • Maintain and update process documentation & training as well as maintenance of the process website
  • Lead PDP training for all new users, refresh current users and train on PDP changes
  • Work closely with IS and Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) teams on all systems changes, designs and implementation
  • Other assignments as requested or required

  • Experience in non-technical website development (i.e. SharePoint) is a plus

Education / Experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in a business setting with strong process orientation
  • Experience in product development & innovation
  • Demonstrated competence with PDP or similar stage/gate process
  • Lean experience with kaizen events, process mapping, and/or quality systems engineering


WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Fast-paced, dynamic culture in an office environment
  • Based out of Wyoming, MN
  • Work and travel between Polaris sites will be required. Travel less than 10%.
