To provide technical engineering knowledge and capabilities to support product acceptance testing and evaluation. To provide the capability to develop quality control programs, specifications, and calibration process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides technical knowledge for testing and evaluation of product acceptance to engineering specifications
Front line liaison to production supervisor(s) and staff in executing troubleshooting, root cause analysis and implementing corrective action on issues affecting production
Performs prototype testing evaluation and acceptance including development of reporting documentation to support design engineering specified criteria.
Tracks, analyzes, and reduces warranty and field data into strategic product development focus areas
Evaluates quality progress and financial results, and recommends changes in procedures to meet corporate quality objectives
Provides technical knowledge for testing evaluations and acceptance of major product modifications
Assists in the development of quality systems and programs in support of quality assurance including compliance to contract specified criteria and LEAN processes
Assists in the evaluation of vendors, suppliers, and outside services as they pertain to quality assurance
Performs quality assurance, testing and evaluation of components, sub-assemblies and finished products to assist in the resolution of quality related issues.
Assists in the planning of quality control engineering assignments.Coordinates work flow and may supervise lower level engineers and technicians assigned to projects
Documents and maintains records in support of quality assurance testing, evaluation and acceptance.
Assists in the training of company personnel in quality related instructions
Work in safe and healthy manner, strictly following all safety rules and regulations
Performs other duties as assigned
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in technical quality disciplines
Strong problem-solving and communication skills required.
Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles and 5S process
Computer literate - extensive experience with Microsoft Office suite including excellent Excel skills.
Knowledge of AUTOCAD/AUTODESK systems required
Ability to express oneself concisely and professionally both verbally and in writing
In-depth knowledge of drawings, technical manuals, technical specification and acceptance testing procedures relating to the electrical and mechanical automotive environment.
Ability to work with hand, pneumatic, and power tools
Fast paced Quality Department and production line presence
