Functional Expertise: Leads model building (Water-jacket , CHT) and apply engineering judgement to model physics to drive thermal related design trade off with cross disciplinary team. Methods Development; Implementation of customer focused Polaris specific CAE tools and best practices. Automation and continuous improvement. Attribute Engineering; Interact with and provide aero thermal analysis project support across multiple product groups using commercial CFD software codes. CAE Data Interpretation; Reporting and documentation including interpretation to peers and leadership. Make design recommendations and suggest countermeasures. Provide input for risk mitigation strategies and recommend design changes when needed. Technical Leadership: Support developing new engineers through technical mentorship.
Education & Experience:
B.S. Engineering required, advanced degree preferred. Skills with Fluent, ANSYS CFx, Pro/E, 1-D and or similar CAE tools. Experience in full engine thermal models (Water flow, CHT) Knowledge of vehicle thermal systems interaction and architecture, including engine, cooling, exhaust, and electrical systems preferred. Strong overall knowledge of the vehicle development process, including experimental correlation and product validation. Strong problem solving skills, adapting any and all tools for data based decision making. Strong, clear communication, interpersonal, and negotiating skills. Team player, ability to work with several design teams concurrently and across multiple sites. Communicate across global cross-functional design teams. 2-5 years minimum experience desired with advanced numerical problems and thermal design.
