Major Responsibilities: Be responsible for the development and insertion of all connectivity components for motorcycle (2-wheel & 3-wheel) programs and platforms. Be responsible for the architecture, controller integration, and integration validation process of Motorcycle connected infotainment systems and related components from concept to production in order to achieve the product objectives within a specified time. Establish reasonable project development schedules and resource plans from concept to production implementation using the Polaris Development Process. Perform detailed studies and design of vehicle software control systems according to Vehicle Specification, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and cost. Interact with purchasing, testing, manufacturing, and external and internal suppliers as needed for the successful completion of projects. Create vehicle level integrated infotainment system validation plans and reviews the test results. Provide tooling, NRE, & BOM cost estimates to the Project team. Perform design trade-off analysis. Solicit resource estimates from the electrical Software, Hardware, and Design teams and work closely with the program leader to ensure adequate resource, budget and forecast. Create and maintain design documentation and schedule appropriate peer team reviews. Present weekly Motorcycle Infotainment team meetings. Troubleshoot software infotainment systems when issues arise and perform other miscellaneous infotainment system engineering assignments as requested. Support marketing focus groups and data gathering on latest vehicle display and infotainment technologies. Up to 10% domestic travel required.
Job Requirements: Applicant must possess a Bachelor's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a closely related engineering field, and 4 years of professional engineering experience in electrical, systems, or project engineering. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience in the following: (1) 4 years of experience working cross functionally to successfully deliver projects; (2) 4 years of experience with managing engineering resources and milestones for projects; (3) 4 years of experience with creating technical requirements; (4) 4 years of experience with creating and maintaining electrical design documentation; (5) 3 years of experience with human-machine interface and displays; (6) 3 years of experience using electrical/software test and analysis equipment; and (7) 3 years of experience with controller communication and integration strategies.
