JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Product Safety & Quality Manager is responsible for executing the Polaris Quality Policy and Personal Quality Commitment in PG&A ORV Manufacturing, Engineering, Product Safety / Regulatory Compliance & Post Sales Surveillance quality strategy, standards, and systems. Also responsible for evolving and sustaining a culture of customer centric Product Safety and Quality. This new leader will be responsible for driving significant improvements to PG&A ORV's product safety and quality through the implementation of applicable elements of the Polaris Quality Operating System. The person should exhibit a managerial style promoting openness, problem ownership, data driven decision-making and teamwork.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality System & Audits


  • Lead the standardization of the quality processes and procedures related to manufacturing, engineering and product assurance, utilizing, wherever possible, existing Polaris standards and programs (I DECIDE QUALITY, EPIC, CAPA, etc.).

  • Define, deploy, maintain and audit the quality management system and quality programs.

  • Assess and execute on integration of lessons learned into DFMEAs, PFMEAs, and Control Plans. Ensure error proofing is executed and effective to close corrective action reports.

  • Ensure corrective and preventative actions are completed thoroughly and on time.

  • Create customer centric metric dashboard and escalation process.

  • Develop and manage supplier development process.

  • Develop quality deliverables, scorecard and audit for New Product Development Process.

  • Ensure requirements are met for Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance.

  • Participate in Global Product Safety & Quality (GPSQ) staff meetings.


Concern Resolution & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and address systemic root causes and errors.

  • Build lessons learned into FMEAs (both Design and Process), and Control Plans.

  • Assess solution effectiveness and report resolution to executive team.

  • Point person for major rework / field issues; work cross functionally to address field issues.

  • Develop plans and interact cross-functionally to ensure product safety considerations are being appropriately addressed in the design & manufacturing of PG&A ORV products.

  • Lead PAP team to monitor, track, trend, prioritize and escalate customer concerns. Support regulatory agency reporting requirements through defined Polaris processes.

  • Provide PG&A ORV direction on decisions regarding product safety and quality.


Leadership

  • Align metrics with Polaris and lead monthly Quality Management Review (QMR) process.

  • Train in structured problem-solving methods and tools, issue reporting and escalation.


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required; advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years' experience in a manufacturing, quality and/or engineering environment.

  • Must have 5+ years in a quality leadership role with demonstrated success.

  • ASQ Certified Quality Manager a plus

  • Strong understanding and ability to implement Quality and Lean Principles and tools.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, especially communications skills (oral and written); demonstrated ability to influence the behavior of peers and others outside the direct reporting line.

  • Creative and innovative thinker; demonstrated ability to initiate, lead and sustain change.

  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills.

  • Project Management skills and experience.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.

  • Standard manufacturing environment.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of time, travel can fluctuate according to business need.
