The Global Engineering Operations (GEOps) team is responsible for supporting the Engineering product teams through data mining, issue analysis, root cause identification, reporting, and monitoring focused on sustainable processes and systems.

The Data Analyst will be working closely with other members of the GEOps and the product teams to analyze relevant program data, develop and prepare reporting on potential process gaps, as well as develop tools and processes to drive efficiencies and expand capabilities within the team. This position plays a critical role in protecting the Polaris brand through data analysis, issue trending, root cause identification, and reporting.


  • Collaborate with the Central Engineering systems and process team to develop and execute analytical approaches to identify and track potential issues through data analysis
  • Understand business context and data elements of varying data sources
  • Design, develop, test, manage and maintain data models, workflows, reports, tools, templates and processes to simplify the analysis process as well as drive work optimization through report automation and stakeholder education
  • Conduct data queries, text mining, and consolidation of engineering program and process data for issue analysis
  • Perform data review and analysis to identify and classify potential issues
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and develop reporting around relevant product development metrics
  • Identify opportunities for work optimization and lead process improvements and automation in report and dashboard development and implementation
  • Support standard and ad-hoc analytic requests, providing accurate and timely data, analysis and insightful interpretations
  • Clearly communicate analysis findings, summarize results and provide recommendations to varying levels of the organization
  • Assist in preparation for key program meetings and status updates
  • Other duties as assigned by the needs of the department or company


  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in Engineering, business analytics or business services/operations in a private or public setting
  • Excellent analytics and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated focus on results with strong organizational, decision-making, process and execution skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cross functionally at all levels of an organization
  • Prior experience in data queries, analysis, and report generation
  • Proficiency in SQL for use in handling preparation and processing of large datasets
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications and data visualization tools (PowerBI, DAX/PowerQuery)
  • Experience with R, Python or other programming languages (Java / C #/ C++)
  • Exposure to data engineering, ETL, data management and quality assurance
  • Demonstrated ability to drive insights and recommendations from the data
  • Ability to meet deadlines and solve problems in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, demands and timelines
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project planning/strategizing skills
  • Ability to communicate complex results to less quantitatively sophisticated users

  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Alteryx, Informatica PowerCenter Designer or MSFT SSIS
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with entity modeling/star schema and DDL/DML
  • Interest in data science and machine learning
  • Mechanical aptitude in power sports and/or automotive
