JOB SUMMARY:
The
Vehicle Communication Network Engineer will support the development of communication networks (CAN/CAN-FD/LIN/Ethernet) for
control and diagnostic communications on Polaris vehicles. They shall be responsible for the continuous maintenance and improvement
of all Polaris communication network strategies and specifications. They will lead the development of roadmaps for updated
communication networks and architectures based on their research and knowledge of industry standards, trends, and future technologies.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with system engineers to understand vehicle communication networking needs
- Work with Electrical Engineers to design and document communication messages for controller/vehicle applications
- Work with engineers and suppliers to implement Polaris reflash strategies on embedded controllers
- Develop and update Polaris network communication standards and protocol specifications
- Work with Engineering Teams to understand vehicle technology plans and future communication needs
- Perform vehicle network bus-loading and timing analysis
- Manage/Maintain Polaris communication databases
- Support troubleshooting and diagnosing of CAN/Other related issues
- Develop and support protocol and physical network compliance tools and test methods
- Support validation teams in on-going system validation efforts
- Network with industry professionals and perform research on industry trends
- Other duties as required
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- B.S. or higher in Engineering required; Electrical, Software, Computer, or related field desired
- 2+ years CAN networking experience required, additionally CAN-FD/LIN/Ethernet experience desired
- Experience in UDS and/or J1939 protocols required
- Experience or background in the development of vehicle electronic architectures required
- Experience using tools such as CANalyzer, CANOE, Vehicle Spy, or other required
- Experience with Physical CAN signal analysis with Oscilloscope or other measurement tools desired
- Experience with ECU measurement and calibration protocols preferred (CCP/XCP)
- C and/or CAPL software development experience desired
- Experience with ODX development desired
