ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Technical Lead for integrated safety performance of vehicle chassis systems for Polaris Provides expertise in safety-related vehicle dynamics involving brakes, driveline, steering, & suspensions - all vehicles Guides technical team(s) on current and future product development Leads development of cross-enterprise technical specifications, designs & test validation methods Works as liaison between Product Development and Manufacturing for continuous improvement of safety critical system assembly process control & quality Assists in related product investigations; facilitates root cause analyses Performs research, testing & benchmarking to understand vehicle control failure modes
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering; MS preferred 8+ years of relevant product development experience involving vehicle design and manufacturing Overall understanding of related FMVSS, NHTSA, SAE, & ROHVA standards Thorough knowledge of key chassis systems affecting vehicle control i.e. brakes, driveline, steering, suspension, etc. Preferred experience with ABS/regenerative braking, vehicle stability control, descent control, active braking, or other software-integrated chassis safety controls Proven communicator throughout all levels of an organization Automotive knowledge/experience preferred; DFMEA/PFMEA experience preferred High interest in on- and off-road powersports
