JOB SUMMARY

The Privacy Analyst helps execute Polaris' vision to be a customer-centric, highly efficient growth company by partnering with the Privacy & Cybersecurity Counsel to mature and evolve the Polaris Privacy Program and embed privacy by design principles into Polaris operations. The Privacy Analyst also plays a leading role in (1)translating legal privacy requirements and principles into practical, actionable guidance to assist Polaris teams in achieving their goals and (2)working with cross-functional teams to develop and implement operational processes to address privacy requirements, such as responding to individual rights requests, maintaining records of personal information processing activities, and conducting privacy impact assessments. The ideal candidate will possess strong cross-functional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills; emotional strength and maturity; and sound project management and organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Collaborate with Polaris' Engineering, Digital, Information Services, and business teams to incorporate privacy by design principles into the development, delivery, and maintenance of connected products and services and digital offerings

  • Analyze relevant facts, including product/system/process designs and data flows, to identify privacy risk, develop appropriate risk-mitigation strategies, and provide practical guidance to assist Polaris teams in achieving their goals while appropriately addressing privacy requirements and principles

  • Partner with the Information Services team to maintain, enhance, and implement Polaris' process for responding to individual rights requests

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Digital, Information Services, and business representatives to maintain and enhance Polaris' records of business processes, products, services, systems, and vendors that process personal information

  • Partner with the Privacy & Cybersecurity Counsel to maintain, enhance, and implement Polaris' process for conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA)

  • Assist the Privacy and Cybersecurity Counsel with the maintenance and enhancement of Polaris' privacy policies and notices

  • Collaborate with the Privacy & Cybersecurity Counsel to develop and deliver appropriate privacy training and awareness to various business and functional teams throughout Polaris

  • Partner with the Privacy & Cybersecurity Counsel to enhance the maturity of the Polaris privacy program and adapt it to changes in global privacy laws and enforcement activities, and Polaris business initiatives


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • 2+ years of experience as a data privacy professional with knowledge and understanding of current and emerging global privacy laws and regulations

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Relevant privacy certification(s) (e.g. CIPP, CIPM, CIPT) a plus

  • Information technology or engineering experience a plus

  • Ability to obtain and digest relevant facts and data flows to assess privacy risks and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate risk to diverse technical and non-technical audiences with different levels of seniority

  • Ability to help translate legal requirements and advice into operational privacy requirements and provide practical guidance to assist business and technical teams in obtaining their goals while appropriately addressing privacy requirements and principles

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills, with the ability to drive and manage projects proactively, and negotiate appropriate risk-mitigation strategies

  • High emotional intelligence that shows emotional strength and maturity

  • Sound project management skills (e.g. project charters, trackers, timelines, and reports)

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance competing priorities in a very fast-paced environment
