This position will take an active role in all aspects of Engineering Finance. This role will partner closely with the Engineering team, as well as Product and Business teams, to track and inform investment decisions and active projects. This role will also work closely with the extended GBU finance teams to drive process improvements and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key business partner to the Motorcycle and Comm'l, Gov't & Defense Engineering teams. They will guide accurate and timely reporting and will help to identify risks and opportunities within the portfolio as well as mitigation plans. They will also serve as the subject matter expert for Engineering Finance to the respective GBUs and will help to drive cost transparency.
This role will function as a key partner in continuous improvement initiatives in the Engineering organization, driving improvements in the processes, systems, planning, reporting and VIP. Reporting relationship will be a solid line into Finance Director Commercial, with a dotted line to the Finance Director MC Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Become a business partner within the Engineering teams. Partner with GBU Finance and Product teams in business case development for program investments and Value Improvement Projects (VIP); assist in coordination process of PDP with emphasis on business case alignment between relevant parties (ENG, Finance & Product development)
Work closely to develop partnerships and collaborate with other GBU's / Engineering finance SME's to share best practices, problem solve, and align on accounting practices to drive efficiency / commonality in process and controls
Key member in working with functional team members to identify opportunities and provide input to improve as appropriate
Subject matter expert for Engineering Program financial tool - Portfolio Management (PPM)
Own monthly close process, reconciliation, variance analysis and journal entries for Engineering cost centers
Support financial reporting and presentations including but not limited to Monthly Operating Reviews, budget, Forecast and Value Improvement Process tracking
Lead the process and consolidation of annual Long Range Product Plan, Long Range Plan, Budget, Quarterly Forecasts and outlooks throughout the year
Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan
Develop efficient methods for extracting and analyzing data; Maintain and develop various financial models for research, resolution, and decision making often with ambiguous guideline
Identify and help manage Risks and Opportunities within the Engineering Plan
Perform ad hoc financial analysis for projects as assigned, including but not limited to NPV and Payback calculations on investments, cost leverage opportunities
Maintain, develop and adhere to accounting and financial controls to ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP

Office space in Medina, MN for coordination with GBU Finance as well as Business and Product Management teams
Office space in Wyoming, MN to facilitate partnership with Engineering teams as well as to leverage other Engineering finance specialist
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field
4 - 6 years of experience in Accounting/Finance required
Strong process, analytical, influencing and communication skills
Detail and deadline orientated
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities; Be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
Extensive experience in various Microsoft tools required (Excel, PowerPoint); OneStream, MAPICS, Alteryx, Power BI and other query tool experience a plus
Demonstrated success developing tools to improve processes and financial analysis
Proven experience working with and influencing cross functional teams
