JOB SUMMARY:

Develops and maintains a strong retail dealer network and District Retail Manager team to meet and exceed corporate and region sales objectives for retail growth, increasing market share and upgrading the dealer network while projecting a professional image on behalf of Polaris. Executes Sales policies and procedures to meet goals provided by Director of Sales. Implements the Sales strategy and manages the region's District Retail Managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Motivate, coach, direct and lead District Retail Managers and Associate Regional Managers
  • Travel to direct reports' districts 1-2 times annually to maintain district visibility, coach team members and evaluate dealership effectiveness
  • Drive regional team alignment and development through regular communication and team meetings
  • Develop, manage and control annual regional budget
  • Develop plans and countermeasures to achieve regional retail goals while working closely with Territory Sales Leader to deliver on wholesale targets
  • Drive retail performance and dealer profitability through innovation and best practice sharing
  • Monitor and report on competitive activity and recommend sales/promotional strategy response; assists corporate team with developing strategy and administering policies
  • Partner with Channel Development to identify key markets for distribution optimization through dealer adds, terminations and consolidations
  • Demonstrate knowledge of dealership work processes, profit centers, organizational structure, strategies, objectives and trends
  • Manage administrative reporting and analysis to monitor region performance
  • Maintains understanding of Polaris' products, mission, values, and strategic initiatives and impact on sales goals
  • Assess dealer network for overall sentiment, trends, and status of issue resolution
  • Champion sales standard work and use of sales tools and systems, as well as and assist dealers with utilization of the dealer extranet website


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required (Business, Marketing)
  • 5-10 years field sales and retail sales experience with proven track record required
  • Previous experience in a management role, including supervision of remote staff preferred
  • Knowledge of distribution network strategy
  • Recognized leader within Sales and consistent high performer
  • An understanding, appreciation and passion for Polaris product preferred
  • Experience with budget management and sales forecasting
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Skilled in developing talent and team building


WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Travel required up to 80% for meetings, regional travel or customer events
  • Some travel to remote locations and corporate functions may be required
  • Home office environment with support from corporate location
