The Long-Term Assets Senior Analyst is a key member of the Corporate Accounting Team, serves as a subject matter expert for the accounting and reporting of fixed assets, leases, and intangible assets, and provides support for capital project planning, capital efficiency analysis, and strategic projects. The Long-Term Assets Senior Analyst is responsible for producing data-driven analysis and proposals for management review and decision as well as for leading process improvement projects and participating in projects to design and implement system enhancements.The Long-Term Assets Senior Analyst reports to the Corporate Accounting Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Corporate Finance and Business Unit teams to drive financial integrity by developing system and process controls to timely identify and address inaccurate data.

  • Apply ASCs 350, 360, and 842 to ensure accounting and internal and external financial reporting for intangible assets, fixed assets, and leases are complete and accurate.

  • Employ a service excellence mindset to proactively engage stakeholders in addressing upcoming changes in U.S. GAAP and internal policies and standard procedures.

  • Actively work with worldwide financial teams on problem areas and provide input to resolve issues as appropriate. Drive quality and continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.

  • Create dynamic reports and analysis to highlight trends and insights and provide recommendations on improvement areas based on analysis of accounting operations trends and performance.

  • Identify, propose, and lead projects to execute on process improvements. Actively participate in projects to design and implement system enhancements.

  • Ensure accounting and fiscal compliance with external and internal standards, regulations, laws and policies.

  • Develop and document business processes and Finance policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

  • Review lease assessments for new lease classification (Finance/Operating) and assess the accounting impact of new, amended, and terminated leases.

  • Assist Finance and Operational teams in lease versus buy decisions.

  • Perform month-end and quarter-end close procedures, such as preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and disclosure support.

  • Prepare schedules and analysis for internal and external reporting, and compile lease schedules and provide support for internal and external auditors.

  • Assist in various other routine and non-routine analysis, including return on investment and lease portfolio analysis.

  • Manage the Capital Expenditure Requests (CER) and Lease Expenditure Requests (LER) workflows and ensure compliance with internal policy requirements.

  • Manage and maintain the Fixed Asset System, including recording asset description, life, location, value, and other pertinent information for each capitalized asst. track and report asset additions, disposals, and depreciation.Collaborate with the Shared Services team, Tax team, Plant Finance teams, and Subsidiary and Business Unit Controllers to maintain timely and accurate data in the Fixed Asset System.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent

  • CPA strongly preferred; MBA also preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience in public accounting and the manufacturing industry preferred

  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance

  • Experience performing risk assessments and designing and implementing internal controls

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient in U.S. GAAP and the COSO Framework

  • Analytical mindset with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated integrity and sound decision-making

  • Strong personal drive, initiative, and persistence

  • Experience working in a Results Oriented Work Environment

  • Self-starter with the flexibility to work independently with minimal supervision or in a group environment

  • Proactive, independent thinker who will continuously look for ways to improve existing processes

  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables; experience with AMT, Sage Fixed Assets System, MAPICS, and/or OneStream is a plus
