This role will be responsible for the accurate and efficient accounting for corporate owned accounting processes and consolidation of all global general ledgers. This position will own and lead the establishment of a Controllership Council that will create unity amongst our global controllers and a forum to build and develop talent along with create ownership and accountability of the US GAAP global accounting records and processes. Further, this position will be responsible for increasing the use of OneStream capabilities to create increased control ownership along with improved efficiency of accounting processes. The role reports directly to the VP FP&A / Corporate Controller.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and ensure the integrity of all accounting records for the corporate ledger along with all records maintained and developed on behalf of the Business Unit, functional, and subsidiary accounting teams
Responsible for executing the process to achieve and ensure accurate consolidation of all global trial balances in compliance with US GAAP
Perform detailed and analytical analysis of the consolidated financial statements to ensure accurate accounting records
Prepare a monthly reporting package that contains a full set of financial statements along with associated detail
Responsible for the development, evaluation and performance of personnel in the Corporate Accounting group; includes ensuring the staff is at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives
Responsible for performing and/or overseeing effective controls on consolidation, metadata changes, financial statement preparation and review, maintenance of the chart of accounts, and standard reports
Coordinate on the key responsibilities and initiatives of the following groups: Accounting Policies, External Reporting, Internal Audit, Finance Process & Systems
Ensure proper documentation of financial records is maintained
Design and implement standard processes and process efficiencies within owned responsibilities as well as through coordination with Business Unit, functional, and subsidiary accounting teams
Own the execution of the consolidation within the OneStream consolidation modules and expand the use of OneStream to improve the accuracy, efficiency and controllership of our global accounting records
Cultivate an environment amongst global controllers which is representative of all aspects of the consolidated financial statements. Foster the growth, technical training, and development of the team while also utilizing the environment to drive ownership, accountability and efficiency of our global accounting records
Ensure proper intercompany accounting and elimination upon consolidation
Provide timely accounting, reporting, and system guidance to support the organization through business changes and strategic projects.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field required
Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred
15+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance required
Ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels
Ability to work well in a fast paced, team centered environment
Standard, fast-paced office environment, 10-15% travel required
