Major Responsibilities: Polaris Industries, Inc. is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to apply diversified technical knowledge of Quality, Operations, and Engineering, and exercise acumen of Supply Chain Management to improve performance (Price, Delivery, and Quality) of the Polaris Global Supply Chain. S/he will conduct quality, manufacturing and production capacity assessments; execute root cause problem solving & corrective/preventative action (CAPA); facilitate risk management & mitigation, as well as improvement events & supplier training; development & presentation of executive summaries & supplier scorecards; development & innovation of quality core processes (standard work); coordinate onboarding of new suppliers and support of the Supplier Continuous Improvement Program (SCIP) which involves the long-term strategic development of suppliers with performance that is below expectations. The position will be based out of Polaris office in Brooklyn Park, MN, but travel to supplier locations may be required up to 50% of the average work week.
Job Requirements: This position requires a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial/Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. The employer will accept a bachelor's degree equivalent based on a combination of education and experience as determined by a professional evaluation service. In addition, the position requires 4 years of experience in the position offered, or a similar role in the Automotive or Powersport industry. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience. Additionally, a qualified applicant's experience must include the following skills: (1) 4 years of experience with basic and advanced quality tools LEAN, SPC, GD&T, measurement systems analysis, advanced quality planning (AQP), and production part approval process (PPAP); (2) 4 years of experience with quality systems and manufacturing process auditing with QS900 and TS 16949 requirements; and (3) 4 years of experience with manufacturing or assembly problem solving skills, drafting and presentencing reports in a cross-functional environment, process experience with vehicle component commodities, and establishing collaborative relationships cross-functionally internally as well as with a diverse and global supply base.
